Maintenance Engineering Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

The role of the Maintenance Engineering Supervisor includes, but is not limited to, providing technical support for maintenance and operations, designing, and troubleshooting mechanical/electrical components and systems, troubleshooting hydraulic systems, troubleshooting pumping systems, assisting with set up of preventative and predictive maintenance programs by applying engineering principles and practices and demonstrating high level of project management leadership.

• Design and implementation of new systems and modification of existing equipment
• Improve production and maintenance processes, keeping accurate documentation for all improvements in the area of responsibility.
• Provide technical expertise with regard to electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Failure analysis/troubleshooting
• Work in cooperation with other departments or teams
• Must be willing and able to travel throughout the US 70% of the time

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or related field.
2. 5+  years of experience in a Manufacturing industry or related experience.
3. Experience with 2D/3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works or Inventor

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Prior experience in the Heavy Equipment industry.
2. Demonstrated problem solving techniques and root cause identification.
3. Demonstrated project management skills and experience.
