Basic Job Functions:

Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided for this position

  • Develop and maintain relationships with teammates, shipping contacts (internal and external) and railroads to streamline the movement of scrap/steel in the most cost-effective manner
  • Proactive communication with teammates, customers and railroads
  • Analyze transportation data and resolve operational challenges by reviewing reports and conducting detailed communications via phone and email with commercial, logistics, and customers
  • Maintain and update documentation related to business systems and software.
  • Review and audit freight invoices to verify accuracy, authorize payments, or initiate disputes as necessary
  • Contribute to cross-functional projects and perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals
  • Willingness to travel to US based locations on an as-needed basis to support business needs and project deadlines

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, logistics and or related discipline and or 2 years of equivalent work experience in a logistics, supply chain, or business role
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office Applications (Excel)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and the ability to effectively communicate to various audience groups both inside and outside of the company

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Business or Communications field with a concentration in Business or Supply Chain
  • Prior experience in the steel manufacturing or scrap metal industry
  • Prior experience in rail or rail related industry
  • Two years in a logistics, dispatch or shipping department role
