Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
River Metals Recycling is looking to add an Electrical Controls Engineer to our team of engineers to support our growing business. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in control systems programming, preferably with Rockwell Automation systems, as well as knowledge of motor control and power distribution design in low to medium voltage applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead control panel design, including detailed layouts, power distribution, and component selection.
- Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Program PLC-based control systems and develop HMI applications.
- Design and implement control strategies for automation hardware.
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system and panel issues.
- Be the lead electrical person on various projects. Responsibilities include selecting electrical contractors, setting and adhering to the overall project schedule and budget, and ensuring a safe, quality installation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering- Electrical, or Industrial preferred.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- PLC & HMI programming capabilities required. Experience with 480Vac 3 phase electrical circuits also highly preferred.
- Experience in an industrial setting with electrical controls experience preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Strong knowledge of Rockwell Automation products.
- Experience with industrial networking protocols.
Minimum Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of personnel within the Company, and with outside vendors, suppliers, and contractors.
- Experience using personal computers in a work environment for spreadsheet, document presentation, and drawing preparation. Experience with software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, AutoCAD and Rockwell Software products preferred.
- Ability to perform safely and efficiently in a time sensitive environment.
- Ability to travel 35%.
Preferences:
- Experience with low and medium voltage power distribution desired.
