Basic Job Functions:
The Detailer is responsible for project coordination and the complete development of 3D models, approval and placement plans, and bills of material in accordance with project specifications and product requirements using Tekla, a comprehensive 3D modeling program. This role requires strong attention to detail, consistent focus, and the ability to produce accurate work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The position will involve managing changing priorities, complex project requirements, customer expectations, and overtime needs while maintaining a high standard of quality and professionalism. Successful candidates will be self-motivated, dependable, and able to manage time, workload, and pressure effectively to meet commitments and support team success. Specific job responsibilities include reading and interpreting structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to steel joists and deck to accurately prepare detailed drawings and bills of material. Detailers must be able to fulfill commitments on a regular basis while maintaining a “World Class” level of quality and establishing effective working relationships with Teammates and Customers.

Specific Job Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, specifications, and design requirements related to steel joists and deck to accurately prepare detailed drawings and bills of material
- Fulfill commitments on a regular basis while maintaining a “World Class” level of quality
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with Teammates and Customers
- Understand and support Vulcraft practices, customer needs, and division goals
- This position will include working overtime when required to meet commitments
Compensation Data:
Starting compensation for this role ranges from $23.52-$24.11 per hour and is eligible for a monthly Detailer Productivity Incentive Plan and annual division earned Profit Sharing bonus. When factoring in the Detailer Productivity Incentive Plan, starting annual pay ranges between approximately $60,100 - $61,600 per year.
After training is completed, future compensation for this role ranges from $24.70 per hour to $42.24 per hour plus the Detailer Productivity Incentive. When factoring in the Detailer Productivity Incentive, the future annual pay ranges from approximately $63,100-$108,100 per year.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Aided Drafting, Architectural or Engineering Technology
- Prior steel joist and/or steel deck experience
- Prior experience in a construction or manufacturing industry
