Basic Job Functions:
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in delivering exceptional HR service and operational excellence at Nucor. This position ensures a seamless and positive experience for teammates throughout their journey by collaborating across departments to execute HR transactions with accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- HR Data Management: Maintain teammate records including personal information, leave requests, benefits, and internal movement while ensuring compliance and a seamless teammate experience.
- Onboarding Journey: Coordinate and deliver an organized, positive onboarding experience for new hires and internal transfers. This includes preparing and presenting onboarding materials, facilitating introductions, ensuring timely completion of HR transactions, and partnering with divisions to support a smooth transfer.
- Benefits: Administering Nucor benefit plans and financial transactions by working with internal customers and multiple benefit providers.
- Compliance & Best Practices: Stay up to date on employment laws and HR processes ensuring Nucor remains compliant with all relevant regulations.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Generate, analyze, and interpret HR data and reports to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Compensation: Support Nucor’s compensation cycles, including annual planning and bonus preparation.
- HR Projects & Initiatives: Contribute to various HR projects aimed at enhancing efficiency, improving teammate experience, and driving operational excellence.
- Communication: Develop and deliver engaging HR communication that support teammate understanding of programs, processes, and broader organizational updates.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related field
- 2 years’ administration experience in HR or related field.
- 2 years’ experience with Microsoft Office products
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in HRIS (Human Resources Information System) software
- SuccessFactors Applicant Tracking System Experience
- Learning Management System Experience
