Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Business Technology is seeking a highly skilled Data Quality (IDQ) Engineer to join our Data Governance team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data quality solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data profiling, cleansing, and monitoring, and will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets.
The position will be required to perform maintenance and remediation of data environments outside of normal work hours when necessary.
This is a full-time, permanent position with the Nucor Business Technology Team.
A willingness to travel periodically and domestically is required to satisfy project or training demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data quality rules, scorecards, and dashboards using Nucor's data quality solution.
- Perform data profiling and root cause analysis to identify and resolve data quality issues.
- Collaborate with data stewards, data owners, and business analysts to define data quality requirements and standards.
- Integrate IDQ with Informatica Data Governance and Catalog platforms to support end-to-end data lineage and stewardship workflows.
- Develop automated data quality monitoring and alerting processes.
- Support metadata management and contribute to the development of business glossaries and data dictionaries.
- Document data quality processes, rule logic, and remediation procedures.
- Provide training and support to business users and technical teams on data quality tools and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience with a data quality platform, including rule development, profiling, and scorecarding or similar platform
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases.
- Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (e.g., Informatica Axon, EDC).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS).
- Knowledge of data privacy regulations
- Experience with data integration and ETL processes.
