What You'll Do

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

1. Properly follow company and OSHA safety procedures. Attend safety meetings and participate in safety program.
2. Monitors one system of production equipment within designated plant. 
3. Performs preventative maintenance including lubricating and measuring wear. 
4. Operate small equipment of various sizes including forklifts, skid steers, etc. on an as needed basis.
5. Duties include, but are not limited to: monitoring various production equipment, making adjustments to feed/discharge rates of various production equipment, troubleshooting issues with production equipment.
6. Perform daily inspections on equipment reporting any defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
7. Perform daily maintenance on production equipment including greasing, lubricating, cleaning, and measuring.
8. Keep grounds clear of debris while maintaining safety standards.
9. General labor duties that may include but not limited to sweeping, shoveling and general clean-up of any area and/or equipment throughout the yard.
10. Effectively communicate over radio with teammates for traffic coordination, production, and safety procedures.
11. Willing to cross-train in other positions and assist other employees as needed.
12. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What You'll Need

1. Ability to travel to Tampa for temporary training. We will reimburse travel expenses. 
2. Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop outdoor environment while providing excellent customer service.
3. Minimum of 1-year previous general labor in heavy manufacturing environments and warehouses preferably in the scrap metal or construction industries.
4. Ability to work standing or walking for up to 12 hours per day.
5. Ability to adapt to frequent changes of priority and complete job tasks safely and effectively without constant supervision.
6. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
7. Ability to operate a forklift is a plus.
8. Flexible to work overtime, off-hours, weekends, and holidays in an industrial/warehouse environment which includes being outdoors in all weather conditions.
9. Bilingual preferred.
