Basic Job Functions:

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

  • Organize, track, and coordinate PM’s.
    • Track running PM’s.
    • Schedule downtime PM’s.
    • Track completions.
    • Adjust cycle times to appropriate levels based on feedback and conditions.
    • Create and maintain PM completion reports.
  • Manage and coordinate projects.
    • Track project progress with project owners to schedule appropriate downtime for installation.
    • Be an owner for projects.
    • Ensure project readiness for installation prior to scheduled installation.
    • Track all projects and provide status regular status reports.
    • Be a liaison between off-site contributors on projects.
  • Support spare part inventories.
    • Determine proper components needed.
    • Coordinate with procurement to ensure proper stock levels are maintained.
    • As appropriate, work with procurement to send out parts for repair.
    • Coordinate with internal and external sources to modify and/or improve parts to extend service life.
    • Coordinate spare parts and PM’s for time-based replacements.
  • Schedule maintenance.
    • Coordinate input from teammates and prioritize planned maintenance.
    • Create planned maintenance schedules.
    • Adapt maintenance plans to meet site needs.
    • Coordinate with teammates to ensure all parts, tools, and equipment are ready and available for planned maintenance.
    • Estimate time needed to complete planned maintenance with proper resource loading while managing cost and time.
  • Coordinate with contractors and outside resources.
    • Maintain relationships with outside support resources.
    • Schedule contractors as appropriate for planned and unplanned maintenance.
    • Coordinate with support services and contractors to ensure the proper support is available and on-site at the appointed time for projects and planned maintenance.

Minimum Qualifications:

    • 5 years of professional experience in a facilities management, manufacturing, or maintenance planning role
    • Experience maintaining parts inventory and managing detailed maintenance schedules
    • Experience serving as a liaison between maintenance and operations

    • Knowledge of maintenance activities to an extent that allows successful planning of time, resources, and material.
    • Demonstrates understanding of what proactive means with regards to maintenance.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and mechanical equipment.
