Daily Job Duties – What You'll Do

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

• Follow safety rules and look out for yourself and your teammates
• Work outdoors doing general yard and warehouse labor
• Sweep, shovel, and keep work areas clean and safe
• Help weigh, sort, and move scrap metal and materials
• Operate a forklift (or learn—we train)
• Inspect incoming scrap and help customers understand what we accept
• Cross-train and help where needed—no two days are the same

This is real, physical work—not a desk job. The harder you work, the more you earn. No experience required—we provide paid training.

Job Requirements – What We're Looking For

• Dependable workers who show up on time and ready to work
• Comfortable working outdoors in heat and weather
• Able to stand or walk most of the shift (up to 12 hours)
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and holidays when needed
• Previous general labor, warehouse, construction, or industrial experience is a plus—but not required. We train the right people
• Forklift experience is a plus (not required)
• Bilingual is a plus
• Must pass hair drug test and background check
