Basic Job Functions:
Vulcraft Utah is looking to fill the position of Buyer for our Brigham City Utah office. The primary function of the Buyer is to independently and proactively develop and execute purchasing strategies for raw materials, consumable products, and services. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ordering raw materials, managing inventory levels in alignment with the business strategy, and communicating with internal and external departments regarding material shortages, substitutions, and aged inventory. Additional duties include monitoring obsolete inventory, negotiating contracts, managing internal controls, and establishing and maintaining vendor relationships appropriately.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of purchasing in a manufacturing setting or relevant experience
Preferences:
- SAP or similar ERP experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Management, Finance or related field
- Moderate Excel Skills
- Supply Chain Certification or MBA
- Experience in several of the following disciplines: business law, contract management, internal controls, inventory management, negotiations, procurement, risk management, or warehouse experience
