Nucor Buildings Group is seeking a self-driven and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join our credit team. This role is ideal for someone who takes initiative, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about improving processes. This position will collaborate with customers, the Credit Analyst, and internal teams to ensure accurate financial records, process invoices, verify credit applications, and ensure lien and pre-lien compliance. The ideal candidate is proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial software, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and consistently meets deadlines with minimal supervision.

Basic Job Functions:

• Job Release Reporting: Compile and prepare internal reports to support the timely and accurate release of jobs.
• Customer Follow-Up: Send professional follow-up emails to customers regarding missing documents, outstanding balances, and general inquiries.
• Invoicing & Accuracy: Create and send customer invoices while verifying all billing information for accuracy and completeness.
• Monthly Statements: Distribute monthly account statements to customers and ensure all records are up to date.
• Payment Processing: Deposit customer payments promptly and accurately, ensuring proper application and documentation.
• Lien Documentation: Gather, and organize all necessary documents required for lien filing to support our legal and financial protections.
• Customer Service: Collaborate with internal teams and communicate with customers to provide accurate information and maintain strong relationships.

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective written and verbal communication
• One year of accounting, accounts receivable/payable or bookkeeping experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• Understanding of accounting principles, credit processes, and lien/pre-lien documentation
• Experience working with Microsoft D365 or similar ERP systems
• Six months of experience in construction related credit administration
• Proven ability to take ownership of tasks and drive them to completion with minimal supervision
