Basic Job Functions:
This internship supports supply chain process improvement initiatives, applying engineering, scientific, and mathematical methods on top of the reports, tracking tools, and automation currently in use. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Applying operations research and data analytics methods to a logistics, scheduling, or inventory management challenge identified during the division's process improvement initiative;
- Building and validating an optimization or analytics model (for example, an inventory safety-stock/reorder-point model, a transportation or production scheduling model, or a freight/network optimization analysis) using data from existing reporting, tracking, and automation tools;
- Auditing and stress-testing data flowing through recently implemented reports, tracking tools, and automation to confirm accuracy and reliability prior to broader deployment;
- Translating technical findings into a business case (working capital, cost, service-level, or throughput impact) suitable for presentation to plant and division leadership;
- Collaborating with logistics, scheduling, purchasing, and IT/automation teammates to scope, validate, and document the assigned project; and
- Supporting continuous improvement of supply chain, logistics, scheduling, and inventory management processes.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Industrial or Systems Engineering, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related engineering, scientific, or quantitative discipline
- Rising junior or senior standing
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel
- Working knowledge of a data analysis or programming tool (e.g., Python, R, or SQL)
- Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or project experience in optimization (linear/mixed-integer programming), discrete-event simulation, or demand forecasting
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS or other ERP systems
- Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in logistics, transportation, or manufacturing operations
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau
