Basic Job Functions:
The Rolling Mill Inspector Tech responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Help lead unprecedented excellence in safety. Ensure safety is inherent and paramount in every single thing we do.
- Consistent focus and dedication to improve all facets of safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability.
- Coordinate inspection activities to optimize rolling, finishing, and shipping productivity safely and efficiently.
- Disposition product based on multiple factors including but not limited to product quality, process upsets, and customer expectations.
- Assist with preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance.
- Knowledge of customer and ASTM specifications.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 60 days Nucor Brandenburg experience or 1-year experience at another Nucor Division.
- Ability to properly use and interpret diagnostic tools to grade plate quality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior Rolling Mill Inspector experience
- Desire and ability to pursue positions of increased responsibility
