Basic Job Functions:
The Rolling Mill Heating Tech responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Help lead unprecedented excellence in safety. Ensure safety is inherent and paramount in every single thing we do.
• Coordinate reheating activities to safely and efficiently optimize rolling, finishing and shipping productivity.
• Consistent focus and dedication to improve all facets of safety, quality, cost, productivity and profitability.
• Observe conditions and monitor slab and ingot reheat furnaces operation and performance during shift.
• Coordinate slab production and material movement alongside Caster team.
• Strive to minimize equipment downtime by assisting with preventative, planned and unplanned maintenance.
• Fire Watch responsibilities
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 90 days Nucor Brandenburg experience or 1-year experience at another Nucor Division.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior Reheat Furnace experience
