Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking qualified applications for the posting of Product Metallurgist.  Principal duties include, but are not limited to:  

 

  1. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. 

  1. Ensuring order entry is correct from a technical aspect. 

  1. Understanding and maintaining system and standards for order entry. 

  1. Providing technical support to customers and commercial teammates from inquiry to production to product feedback. 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science or equivalent technical/engineering related steel production experience 

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US. Nucor Steel-Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the futur). Due to federal security requirements applicable to this role, only U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents are eligible for consideration.

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Plate Steel Experience 

•    Experience reading and responding to industry and customer specifications 

  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical peers.
