Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking a highly motivated Intern/Co-op to join our team for the spring/summer. This role supports the development of high-quality steel products through data analysis, quality assurance, and cross-functional collaboration. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Compile and analyze mechanical testing and chemical composition data  

• Verify material compliance with customer/major society specifications  

• Assist in metallographic preparation and analysis  

• Organize and maintain technical documentation  

• Support problem-solving efforts throughout steel production processes  

• Communicate effectively with teams across the mill  

• Uphold and promote Nucor's safety standards and practices  

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future.  

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate or non-thesis graduate program Preferred 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in metallurgy and materials science  

• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills  

• Experience with computer science, coding languages, SPC, and Microsoft Office  

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
