Logistics Administrator

Basic Job Functions:

The Logistics Administrator responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Serving as the primary contact for scale-house related inquiries;
• Communicating professionally and effectively with carriers, drivers, and internal teammates to resolve logistical issues;
• Assisting drivers with check-in/check-out and provide necessary instructions;
• Operating truck and rail scales to verify, gather, and input data from inbound and outbound to ensure accurate shipment weights;
• Recording load details in operating systems accurately and in a timely manner;
• Issuing and reconciling scale tickets, bills of lading, and other shipping documents;
• Verifying shipments meet weight, documentation, and regulatory compliance;
• Ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations (DOT, OSHA, etc.);
• Ensuring safety procedures are followed during check-in and check-out activities; and
• Supporting continuous improvement of logistics and compliance processes.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-2 years in logistics, transportation, or shipping/receiving operations
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite
• Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Associate’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or business administration
•    Experience as a weighmaster or in a scale house environment
•    Proficiency with logistics software and scale systems
•    Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation compliance
•    Knowledge of Oracle EBS systems
•    Knowledge of ERP systems
