Cost Accountant

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Brandenburg is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Cost Accountant.  The successful candidate will analyze and report on operational data for manufacturing, safety and quality; partner with the operations group in various cross functional areas to provide guidance and assistance on financial related projects; and take a leadership role for the coordination and execution of inventory accounting activity ,including monthly journal entries and reconciliations, as well as product cost analysis. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

This position is on-site in Brandenburg, KY and will not have the opportunity to work remotely.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US, Nucor Steel Brandenburg will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future. 

Minimum Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field
•    Demonstrated advanced Microsoft Excel skills (i.e. Vlookups, Pivots, Sumifs)
•    3 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment. 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    CPA and/or CMA
•    5 years accounting experience
•    Manufacturing and inventory experience
