Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Rolling Mill Day Supervisor. The responsibilities of the Rolling Mill Day Supervisor will include but are not limited to:
Assisting in the overall growth and development of the Rolling Mill Team and will work with other departments to ensure consistency and long term success of the division. This will include promoting a culture of ownership, engagement, and teamwork to drive continuous improvement. This position will support our goal to take care of our customers by improving safety, environmental efforts, quality, costs, productivity, and profitability. The Day Supervisor will serve as a resource for the operating crews and will establish expectations, develop best practices for the area, and ensure consistency. In addition, this position will also participate in long term strategic planning for the Rolling Mill.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 5-years of previous leadership experience in Rolling Mills
Preferred Qualifications:
• Two or four year technical, business or related degree
• Experience in the hot rolling of MBQ products and rebar
