Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities of the Quality Supervisor may include but are not limited to:
The Quality Supervisor primary responsibility is the overall development and leadership of the Quality Team to include Safety, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction. The Quality Supervisor is responsible for motivating the team, setting expectations for the team, and making sure that the expectations are being met. The Quality Supervisor will serve as a resource to facilitate collaboration throughout the melt shop and rolling mills to ensure the best interest of Nucor is being met. This person will work cross-functionally with Sales and Operations to address customer specific requirements and product needs. The Quality Supervisor will participate in the long term strategic planning for the department by collaborating with other departments to set the quality goals that directly support the overall vision and strategy of the division.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Materials Sciences, or related field; or equivalent work experience
•Previous laboratory or quality control experience
•2 years previous leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous steel manufacturing experience
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001/ASTM Standards/NTPEP or other Quality Management Systems
