Basic Job Functions:
Responsibilities of the Logistics Administrator may include but are not limited to:
• Provide quality, professional service to customers, carriers and teammates
• Communicate with teammates and carriers to direct truck dispatching using CarrierPoint/Princeton
• Involvement with billing and processing shipments of rail and transload activities
• Assists in developing, strategizing, and negotiating freight rates
• Ensure visitors and contractors sign-in using the computer system, directing visitors/deliveries to destination
• Provide daily reports for Shipping Department and Sales Team
• Filling in at the trucks scales as needed (which may include shift/overnight)
• Process load requests, create and share reports, and other duties as needed
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
• 1+ year experience in an administrative role
• 1+ year experience using Microsoft products (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) in a business setting
• 1+ year experience with flatbed truck market, freight costs, and basic freight calculations
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
• Experience with CarrierPoint, Princeton, DAT, or Sky Blue Logistics
