Basic Job Functions:
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. The Department Administrator will be responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining teammate files, accurate weekly time reports, maintaining the shipping org structure, scheduling of all departmental meetings, to include interviews as needed, and any other departmental scheduling needs while being a reference tool for the shipping teammates. The Department Administrator will be expected to assist with other positions within the Traffic Office, which will require cross-training and development of a working knowledge of those roles. Ability to work well within a Team setting as well as independently will be necessary. The Department Administrator must possess consistency, dependability, and a customer service attitude in order to be successful in this role. The Administrator will be require to work some scheduled/unscheduled overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed. Immediate relatives within the NYS Shipping Department will not be considered.
