Basic Job Functions:
The Shipping Logistics Administrator will be a positive problem solver who demonstrates commitment to continuous improvement of NYS safety culture. Their primary responsibility will be the execution of all aspects necessary for safe, efficient, and timely flow of all barge material from mill to end user, as well as communication of barge status to all customers as needed. These duties may include, but are not limited to, building truck, rail and barge loads, as well as ordering barges and managing all barge payment processing and demurrage costs. Extensive use of several evolving business systems and development of effective relationships with customers, sales, schedulers, metallurgists, quality lab, and all barge lines will be required, while working within a team setting and or independently. as needed. This position will also be required to learn the roles, assist, and cover other NYS Logistics Administrator and the Department Administrator positions as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of structural steel handling practices

Preferences:
Previous logistics experience, preferably rail and barge
Previous inventory management background
