Basic Job Functions:
The role of the Roll Mill/Finishing shift supervisor includes, but is not limited to, coordinating the plant safety/quality culture and operational processes for the production team. They will take a leadership position at all times in regard to the Nucor Yamato Steel initiatives of providing an injury free workplace – team development and improving bottom line results. They will be expected to work toward and support the short and long term goals of Nucor, NYS, and the Rolling Mill. This position will require working on multiple tasks, communicating with all departments, and developing the team in order to take care of our customers in all aspects including Quality/Productivity and Costs. The position will require rotating shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, along with other activities on days off if necessary and as needed.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
One year of leadership experience at a steel mill

Knowledge of the Roll Mill, Finishing, and Roll Shop processes.
