Basic Job Functions:
The Inspection Bed Operator must be able to safely operate the inspection bed and follow cut patterns, piece counts, and clearly communicate with other teammates, all while operating at high rates of production. The operator will be required to assist in other job functions on the crew as needed. In addition, this position will also be required to assist in a variety of other tasks, which include housekeeping and maintenance throughout the finishing bay. The Finishing Inspection Bed Operator will have working knowledge of cut patterns and be able to use various hand tools to make repairs to equipment during down times. After becoming familiar and proficient with the operator process, the operator will begin to learn duties in several other areas of the department, as needed and scheduled. The Inspection Bed Operator must work in extreme weather conditions, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Requirements:
Previous inspection bed operating experience of steel products
