Basic Job Functions:

The Melt Shop Shift Supervisor is responsible for leading safe, efficient production operations while supporting departmental goals. This role promotes and enforces Nucor’s safety policies and leads, coaches, and develops teammates to drive performance in safety, quality, cost, productivity, and profitability.  The Shift Supervisor ensures operational efficiency, maximizes equipment availability, and makes sound, strategic decisions to support continuous improvement. This position requires active participation in meetings and operational activities, including outside regular work hours as needed.  The role will initially support the EAF or Caster areas within the Melt Shop, with flexibility to move to other areas based on business needs. The ideal candidate embraces change, demonstrates initiative, and is committed to personal and team development.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

1 year of Nucor leadership experience or 1 year of technical experience in Melting/Casting.

Attention to Detail       Thorough in accomplishing tasks, no matter how small they may be, and taking care to make sure that expectations are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of Melting/Casting supervisory experience in a Steel Mill.

Ability to work in the United States without Sponsorship
