Material Handling Manager

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Arkansas is seeking a leader for the position of Material Handling Manager to oversee production planning and the daily operations of material handling and shipping of finished product via barge, rail and truck.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to: ensuring the Nucor Steel Arkansas Team delivers on our commitment to become the world’s safest steel company; building a capable and motivated team that can achieve the operational performance necessary to meet commercial objectives; establishing a clear vision and strategy and empowering their team to execute and meet all objectives in safety, quality, costs, productivity, profitability, and environmental; and working collaboratively with other Nucor entities to ensure the most reliable and cost-effective logistics solution for the enterprise

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Five years of leadership/supervisor experience in steel and/or manufacturing

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Material handling experience with a thorough understanding of shipping/traffic logistics, inventory management, and associated processes.
