Environmental Day Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

The responsibilities of the Environmental Supervisor include, but are not limited to, assisting in the overall growth and development of the team while encouraging and building mutual trust and respect with the team. Working with other departments to ensure consistency and long-term success of the division, this will include cultivating a culture of ownership, engagement, and teamwork to drive continuous improvement. This position will support our goal to take care of our customers by improving safety, environmental efforts, quality, costs, productivity, and profitability.  The Day Supervisor will serve as a resource for the operating crews and will establish expectations, develop best practices for the area, and ensure consistency.  In addition, this position will also participate in long term strategic planning for the departmentSafety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Requirements:

Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects

Minimum two years’ experience in industrial, maintenance, or environmental fields

Maintenance system and techniques - Knowledge of servicing, repairing, adjusting, and testing machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment.

Problem solving - Identifying problems and analyzing or reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
