Basic Job Functions:
The EAF Refractory Utility is responsible for safe and efficient performance at the bricking stand at all times. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Inspection, repair or replacement of EAF refractories
- Review and understanding of EAF bricking procedures
- Crane and mobile equipment operation
- Coordinating tasks with the cross-functional team; including but not limited to Contractors, Electricians, Mechanics, and Production teammates
- Maintenance responsibilities of the refractory area
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1 year of Melt Shop Experience and/or 1 year of Refractory Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- EAF Bricking Experience
