EAF 3rd Helper

Basic Job Functions:

The EAF 3rd Helper is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the furnace at all times. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Performing minor maintenance repairs
• Performing regular equipment inspections
• Operating forklifts, cranes, bobcats, man lifts and other equipment
• Taking steel and slag samples and preparing and analyzing slag
• Working as a team to clean and organize the furnace deck

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
