Crane Crew Technician

Basic Job Functions:

This role is in support of our Nucor Crane Maintenance strategy which includes but is not limited to:  safely troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading overhead crane equipment.  This role will include constant cooperation, coordination and building relationships between all departments, to ensure the highest reliability of our overhead cranes with the highest regard for the safety of all teammates.  

 Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  High School Diploma

2. 2 years of Crane Electrical Maintenance Experience or Technical Degree

3. 2 years of Crane Mechanical Maintenance Experience or Technical Degree

4. Knowledge and experience with Drives, Distance measuring devise, and automation

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Commitment to continuous safety improvement

2. Crane electrical/mechanical maintenance experience

3. Familiar with Crane inspections

4. Willingness to take ownership and responsibility for your own work

5. Willing to work unscheduled shifts as needed

6. Excellent troubleshooting skills- both mechanical & electrical

7. Ability to read and understand electrical schematics & diagrams

8. 2 or more years of heavy industrial experience
