NTP Birmingham - Accountant

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Tubular Products Birmingham is seeking to fill the position of Accountant. The responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:  Month end closing process and preparation of monthly financial statements and reports, provide various cost analysis and divisional comparisons, apply and understand Internal Control processes, credit review and cash control, proactively seeking improvements and expanding technical knowledge, participate on various process improvement teams.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4-year B.S. Accounting/Finance
• Understanding and knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley and GAAP
• 2 or more years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Accounting experience in a manufacturing company
• CPA, CMA, or master's degree in Accounting or Business
• Willing to relocate for future job opportunities within Nucor
