NSBHM Billet Crane Operator

Basic Job Functions:

The Billet Crane Operator is primarily responsible for all aspects of safe operation of the billet yard and associated areas. Responsibilities include but are not limited to allocating and setting up billets for Rolling Mill Operations, pulling billets from the Caster cooling bed and stacking in designated locations, assisting in all aspects of rolling mill operations, maintaining accurate inventory of the billet yard, maintaining traceability of billets throughout QMOS, loading and unloading of trucks, helping shipping Operations when needed, and keeping the furnace water system clean by means of clamming. Other job functions include: ability to perform maintenance on area equipment and other duties assigned.Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school Diploma/GED
• Overhead Crane Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Steel Mill Experience
• Rolling Mill Experience
• The ability and desire to pursue positions of increased responsibility
