Overview:
UIG is currently seeking a Regional Operations Manager to oversee production, quality control, personnel, and safety at all production sites within the specified region. This position will be remote based out of the candidate's home office. Extensive travel, about 50-75% of the time, is required within the region as well as occasional trips to the corporate office and vendor/customer facilities. This position has 24/7 on-call responsibility.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct leadership to Plant Managers at supporting facilities, and indirect leadership to Assistant Plant Managers, I&E Specialists, and Plant Operators.
- Ensure that safety is a core value for all team members by promoting a safe work environment and safe work practices through leading by example.
- Take an active role in developing talent and supporting teammates in career growth.
- Foster an inclusive culture that supports teammates’ growth into higher-responsibility roles while driving innovation and delivering strong results.
- Maintain strict compliance with all safety, health, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across operations.
- Manage production rates, qualify parameters, on-stream performance, and efficiency at supporting facilities.
- Manage FDA compliance programs to ensure that plants are operated and maintained in a cGMP compliant atmosphere.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including 5 years of ASU experience.
- Previous experience with building high performance teams. Leading large/complex operations teams is a plus.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and operational best practices.
- Experience with various software systems used at an ASU.
- A general understanding of and experience with instrumentation, electrical, and control systems.
- Solid business acumen with an understanding of the general accounting techniques and financial implications.
- Willingness to travel 50-75% of the time.
Nice to Have:
- Engineering degree (Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical preferred).
- Experience with commissioning/start-up activities.
- Certified Six Sigma Green Belt.
- Auditing experience.
