Basic Job Functions:
This position will report directly to the Bar Mill Group Sales Managers. This position includes, but is not limited to:
- Providing industry leading customer service.
- Developing and maintaining great relationships with customers.
- Managing an active account base and prospecting for new business.
- Being an expert on competitors and competitive situations.
- Submitting and maintaining accurate customer forecasts and territory sales goals.
- Being a skilled negotiator throughout the supply chain.
- Developing and accumulating strategic market intelligence on a consistent basis.
A successful DSM must maintain relationships with inside sales, production, metallurgy, shipping and finance departments within the organization. The DSM role is critical to our efforts in maximizing Nucor’s profitability while ultimately taking care of our customers. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Auburn will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidate must be willing to reside in the territory being served.
- Willingness and means to travel.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively (both written and verbal
Preferred Qualifications:
- College degree in Business, Marketing or related field
- Knowledge of steel markets
- Previous sales experience in a territory management role
