Basic Job Functions:
Wash Bay Attendants are responsible for keeping C.H.I. fleet tractors and trailers clean and inspection-ready — a direct reflection of the quality and professionalism C.H.I. brings to every customer interaction.
- Pick up daily work list at the start of each shift and work independently through assigned tractors and trailers
- Power up water heater, pressure washer, and prepare cleaning materials and wash bay area
- Couple, uncouple, and back trailers into the wash bay using a tractor
- Clean exterior of tractors and trailers using pressure washers, brushes, and approved cleaning agents
- Inspect the exterior of each unit during the wash process and report any damage or maintenance issues to the Wash Bay Team Lead
- Maintain wash bay equipment and area in clean, safe, and operational condition throughout the shift
- All other reasonable duties as assigned
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Schedule
Tuesday-Saturday.
6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Compensation Data
$22.29 per hour + Annual ROA Bonus
ROA Bonus
ROA Bonus percentage is variable, determinate upon company performance each year, up to 33% of annual salary. Current average at C.H.I. is 33%.
Profit-Sharing
10% of Nucor's pre-tax earnings are contributed to the Profit Sharing Plan annually and distributed to all eligible teammates. A large portion is deposited into your profit-sharing account, and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. Current 6-year average = 19.88% of your eligible earnings. Eligible earnings include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 year experience in general labor
- Previous experience in trailer shop work or wash bays
- Valid CDL driver's license or equivalent experience operating tractors and trailers
