Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Scale Administrator. The Scale Administrator role consists of, but is not limited to, operating truck scales to verify, gather, and input data from inbound and outbound materials; performing daily tests on radiation detectors; generating environmental and DOT paperwork for non‑compliance loads; organizing and maintaining paperwork for the finance and shipping offices; performing general housekeeping; and completing other tasks related to the successful operation of Material Handling.
This is a rotating‑crew position. Teammates are expected to attend toolbox meetings and provide proper turnover prior to the start of their shift. Teammates must be able to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as business conditions warrant.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards always.
Minimum Qualifications:
- One (1) year experience in transportation or processing of transportation documents.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, non-stop environment while providing excellent customer service.
- Must be able to work well under pressure and meet critical deadlines.
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities while providing a high level of support.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Computer experience, including Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to learn in-house systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Kiosks and TMS systems
