Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Quality Coordinator. The Quality Coordinator will implement, and maintain the Quality Management System, and ensures the QMS adheres with Industry Standards ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and Customer Specific Requirements. This position requires strong leadership skills to help drive, improve, and enforce quality standards. Duties of a Quality Coordinator include, but are not limited to:
- Quality Culture: Consistently promotes a culture for quality and continuous improvement to proactively prevent quality issues.
- Document Control: Will support the creation and revision of documents, and manage master documents in document control system. Maintain document integrity by ensuring accuracy, version control, access, reviews, approvals, location status, etc.
- Documented Information: Ensures records are legible, retrievable, and securely stored properly per the record retention policy.
- Training: Helps support the departments in maintaining training matrix, job qualification requirements, and assigns trainings through electronic training system. Monitors training status and communicates training status to management.
- On-Boarding: Training and supporting new teammates to know and understand the fundamentals of NSWV Quality Management System.
- Internal Auditing: Conducts audits, including system, manufacturing process, and product audits to assess the effectiveness of the QMS and identify areas for improvement.
- Core Tools: Support and manages quality core tools, including APQP,PPAP, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA): Monitors and tracks corrective and preventive actions to closure to ensure quality issues are addressed and closed effectively.
- Change Management: Be the primary gatekeeper for process and product changes/trials. To ensure that changes do not compromise quality, safety, or customer compliance.
- Other Duties: Comfortable being asked to take on additional duties as assigned to support the plant's overall success and continuous improvement efforts.
Work Environment: Ability to work in a manufacturing setting and able to access all areas of the job site.
Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
The schedule for this role is standard Monday-Friday 8a-5p, however, there may be both scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years working in a quality management system role in accordance with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016 standards or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Power Bi reports.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent written/verbal communication, and ability to work cross-functionally.
