Basic Job Functions:
The Nucor Steel West Virginia Production Lead responsibilities include but not limited to, Leading a production team to safely operate equipment producing quality steel products that meet our quality criteria as defined by our customers’ requirements. This includes directing, planning, organizing, scheduling, and conducting teammate development. The Production Lead will be integral in building relationships and communicating with up and down stream units. The Production Lead must interact effectively with teammates in a fast-paced, production environment. Ability to work rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime including nights, holidays and weekends.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3 years of Hotstrip Sheet Mill experience
- 4 years of prior leadership experience
- Ability to travel for training, possibly for extended periods of time, pre and post commissioning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Four-year degree in engineering, computer science, material science or equivalent
- Prior construction/project management experience
- Prior experience with enterprise resource planning software (SAP, Oracle etc)
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint)
