Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Human Resources Payroll Coordinator. The Payroll coordinator supports new hires, transfers, and current teammates while maintaining the highest level of confidentiality, accuracy, and integrity when handling payroll, and personnel information. Responsibilities include processing weekly payroll, maintaining payroll records, handling tax filings and deductions, preparing reports, preparation of W-2s, resolving payroll inquiries, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The selected candidate will also support Stock Service Awards and Scholarship and Educational Reimbursements. This role will also support general HR administrative functions, including benefits and talent coordination, and performing other duties as assigned.

 

This position is onsite and is an hourly position with expected working hours fluctuating 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or  7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. based on business needs. To ensure the confidentiality and integrity of Human Resources, and in accordance with Nucor policy, the selected teammate may not have relatives employed at Nucor Steel West Virginia.

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree with Two years related HR experience. 
  • Minimum of two (2) years of payroll administration experience involving high-volume payroll processing, preparation of recurring payroll and tax reports, payroll tax compliance, quarterly and annual tax filings, and resolution of payroll discrepancies 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of payroll procedures, accounting principles, and payroll tax regulations
  • Experience processing payroll across multiple state entities and managing multi-state tax requirements
  • Ability to maintain payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Proficiency in preparing reports, resolving payroll inquiries, and meeting recurring deadlines
  • Bachelor's degree or Associate's Degree with Two years related HR experience. 
  • Minimum of four (4) years of payroll administration experience involving high-volume payroll processing, preparation of recurring payroll and tax reports, payroll tax compliance, quarterly and annual tax filings, and resolution of payroll discrepancies
