Crane and Mobile Mechanical Maintenance

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Crane and Mobile Mechanical Maintenance who demonstrates high levels of honesty,integrity, and ownership in everything they do. The selected teammate will ensure the success of the team by SAFELY performing Preventative and Corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. Duringconstruction, maintenance electricians will help build the mill and create our computerized maintenance management system to ensure proper design criteria and equipment reliability.

Job Functions include but are not limited to:

• Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steel making process with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, costs, and project management.
• Perform mechanical troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of hydraulics/pneumatics, centralized lubrication systems, alignments, powertransmission, and pumps/piping.
• Train teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment
• Have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. 

Pay: $111,935.72 to $142,890.80 Range varies based on experience and is a full compensation package includinga variable incentive during construction phase and a potential for annual profit-sharing bonus. (Applicants startingbelow the top of our salary range have the ability to progress to maximum pay through our comprehensive trainingand development program.)

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' industrial maintenance experience. 
• Fundamental Mechanical Theory knowledge.
• Experience Troubleshooting Mechanical Systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Steel Mill experience.
• 1 year crane maintenance experience.
• Experience troubleshooting hydraulic, pneumatic, and powertrain systems.
