Crane and Mobile Electrical Maintenance

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Crane Electrical Maintenance teammate who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. The selected teammate will contribute to the success of the team by safely performing preventive and corrective maintenance on steel mill equipment and systems. This teammates must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, and scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

During construction, Maintenance Electricians will help build the mill and develop our computerized maintenance management system to support proper design criteria, equipment reliability, and long-term maintenance excellence.

Job Functions Include, but are not limited to:

• Propose and implement innovative solutions to challenges in the steelmaking process, with a focus on safety, reliability, quality, cost, and project management.
• Perform electrical and electronic troubleshooting and periodic maintenance on equipment.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical schematics.
• Demonstrate knowledge of high- and low-voltage electrical systems, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), instrumentation, AC/DC variable frequency drives, motors, and control systems.
• Train teammates on new equipment and/or modifications to existing equipment.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' industrial maintenance experience.
• Fundamental Electrical Theory knowledge. 
• Experience Troubleshooting 480V Motors and Controls.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior Steel Mill experience.
• 2-year or 4-year degree in electrical or related field.
• Experience with Magnetek or equivalent.
