Crane Crew Technician

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel West Virginia is seeking a Crane Crew Technician who demonstrates high levels of honesty, integrity, and ownership in everything they do. This role is in support of our Nucor Crane Maintenance strategy which includes but is not limited to safely troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, and upgrading overhead crane equipment.  This role will include constant cooperation, coordination and building relationships between all departments, to ensure the highest reliability of our overhead cranes with the highest regard for the safety of all teammates.  This teammate must have the ability to work weekends, holidays, rotating shifts, scheduled and unscheduled overtime.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This is a greenfield project, which is estimated to be operational in 2025. The new steel mill will employ 800 full-time teammates producing up to 3 million tons per year at one of the most technologically advanced sheet mills. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of Crane Electrical and Mechanical Experience
• Highschool Diploma

Preferred Qualifications:

• PLC, Automation, and VFD experience
• Experience in a Steel Mill
