Cold Roll Product Metallurgist

Basic Job Functions:

The Cold Roll Product Metallurgist is responsible for developing practices that enhance safety, quality, and efficiency while reducing costs. Key responsibilities include reviewing customer inquiries to determine mill capabilities, leading or assisting with customer and internal corrective actions, and driving the development of cold roll products. This role also involves setting up production orders to ensure materials meet customer requirements and performing additional duties as assigned.

Nucor Steel West Virginia’s greenfield project is a new state-of-the-art sheet steel mill that will produce up to 3 million tons per year once fully operational. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located in Mason County, along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Material Science, or Equivalent.
• Minimum of two years of flat rolled steel experience with fully processed cold rolled products. 

Preferred Qualifications:

Cold rolled products with pickle line, tandem mill and batch annealing process experience.
