Automation Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

The Process Control Automation Supervisor is an integral member of the leadership team and must be committed to excellence in everything they do. The primary duties will be to lead and develop the team with respect to safety, reliability, quality, costs, process improvement, and project management. The supervisor will be responsible for overseeing continual improvement initiatives related to the process through the Level 1 and Level 2 automation control systems including the PLC platforms, drive systems, system databases, setup models, etc.

Nucor Steel West Virginia is Nucor's new sheet mill with advanced steelmaking capabilities. This advanced manufacturing facility is to be located along the Ohio River in close proximity to both Huntington and Charleston, WV. This is a full-time position located at our offices in Mason County, WV.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Two years of experience leading in an industrial environment
• Two years of experience in process control/automation system management
• Four years of heavy industrial manufacturing experience 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
• Construction/Equipment upgrade experience
• Experience working with level 1 automation control systems (e.g. PLCs, drives, HMIs, hydraulic controls) and/or level 2 automation control systems (e.g. system databases, setup models, C/C++/C# applications)
• Experience working in a sheet steel mill
