Basic Job Functions:
- Strong commitment to safety in all job aspects.
- Drive the scope, development and implementation of value-added new and or enhanced Nucor Buildings Group products, processes, & tools as defined by collaboration with the Divisions and within Group Services.
- Commit to the framework that makes up our agile procedure including participating in daily stand ups, planning meetings, and retrospectives.
- Produce the highest level of quality documentation that implements value by actively participating in document reviews, testing, tools and processes guidelines.
- Responsible for communicating project status to Teammates by daily updating work completed and work remaining.
- Work with teammates to establish targets, commitments and any scheduling issues for projects.
- Willing to learn general software development, testing and validation.
- Willing to assist with support requests and work with Nucor Buildings Group Support Team as needed.
- Assist in providing documentation that outlines technical scope for software development.
- Work with the Supervisor to remove knowledge gaps within the team.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on codes and design standards that impact the metal building industry and the standard practices which includes CEU/PDH requirements for licensing.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 years of experience in Metal Building Design
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in Structural Design
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a structural emphasis
- Active licensed Professional Engineer or Structural Engineer (P.E., S.E.)
- Experience with and a working knowledge of various building codes and steel design specifications (i.e.: IBC, AISC, ASCE or AISI).
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Extensive knowledge of building construction
- Participation in industry related committees such as MBMA, IBC, AISC
- Experience working within the principles of Scrum or other agile development practice.
