Basic Job Functions:
The Automation Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, taking care of our customers by executing the division's safety, quality, cost, and productivity and profitability objectives. The Technician will be responsible for supporting day-to-day operations of production areas by ensuring a high level of equipment uptime while working in conjunction with shift electrician teammates. The Technician will utilize historical data analysis, multi-meters, technical manuals, and hands-on observations to determine and correct equipment failures, & analyze and implement control system improvements to increase equipment safety, reliability, and functionality. The Technician must be willing to work a flexible schedule including scheduled & unscheduled Overtime & weekends as needed beyond normal daylight working hours & be willing to work hands-on in an industrial environment. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
BS in Engineering and/or 1-3 years work experience in an Automation-focused role.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Allen Bradley and/or Siemens S7 PLCs.
- Familiarity with Variable Frequency Drives and/or DC Motor Drives.
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics for installation, repair, and maintaining equipment
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
