Environmental Compliance Supervisor

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Environmental Compliance Supervisor. The Environmental Compliance Supervisor will have a leadership role in safety, team development, and overall direction of the division’s environmental compliance requirements. The successful candidate will also coordinate with operational teams supporting all pollution control equipment, water systems, and environmental monitoring systems. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork while maintaining compliance in all areas of the site. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering discipline, or equivalent years of applicable experience
• Minimum 3 years of environmental regulatory experience (air/water/waste)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proven ability to work well within a team atmosphere
• Project Management experience
• Previous experience with Title V and NPDES Permitting 
• Demonstrated experience negotiating with state regulators
• RSO Certified 
• Mobility is highly preferred for this leadership position
