Basic Job Functions:

The WESTERN Director of Sales is a key position within the Sales organization reporting directly to the VP of Sales.  The Director has the primary responsibility of assisting in the development of company sales strategies and effectively communicating those strategies to the sales team.  The Director will supervise a team, and will work directly with Skyline support departments and operating facility teammates on a daily basis. The successful candidate must possess excellent sales competencies, including the ability to listen to and ask questions of customers and teammates to discover and analyze their needs. Significant travel is required.


The Director will work from the region hub, location to be determined but optimally located within the region. 
Regions consist of 120-150k tons of annual volume and approximately $120 – $150 Million annual revenue

Basic Functions:
•    In-depth knowledge of our products and solution offerings that are available and the ability to effectively communicate opportunities inside and outside of Nucor Skyline 
•    In-depth knowledge of the Sales Process driving for added sales: generating and documenting leads, follow up and closing orders.  This includes obtaining feedback on lost orders 
•    Knowledge of the business processes, our ERP + CRM systems, and operations in order to seek out opportunities for improvement and efficiency  
•    Ability to use and/or implement sales management tools
•    Effectively strategize to create new business and identify target markets
•    Evaluate Sales, Business Development, and Marketing activities ensuring alignment
•    Develop strategic relationships with key accounts in the Region
•    Extensive travel with Outside Sales, attendance at industry events and company meetings
•    Evaluate, develop, and coach individuals in the many aspects of their job performance and provide consistent feedback and input
•    Works with the leadership team to build upon our best-in-class commercial culture, focused on delivering results through an understanding of the customer and market needs 
•    Work both independently and as part of a team demonstrating a confidence to push boundaries to deliver results in a creative and impactful way
•    Assist in developing content and/or organizing information used in trainings for certain business meetings or specific communications.  Examples may include presentations, trainings, and organizing companywide communications 
•    Establish metrics, set measurable goals, develop talent for long-term success. Develop action/improvement plans, and provide sales tools/trainings, techniques needed to meet and exceed established KPIs
•    Willingness to participate in outside trainings for work and personal development

Minimum Qualifications:
  • 5 years of Sales experience
  • Experience working with CRM systems
