Safety Coordinator NSUT (NSUT)

Basic Job Functions:

The Safety Coordinator will be an integral part of the entire Nucor Plymouth team by assisting with continual improvement of safety related aspects of our operation. The individual will interact with the entire team including providing formal training, but mostly through interaction with production and maintenance team members to assist them in doing their jobs safely.  In addition, the role will include involvement with other Nucor U.S. facilities and their safety programs through occasional audits of their operations and participation in corporate wide meetings and programs. This position will have supervisory responsibilities and will report to the division Environmental Manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of 5 years total experience with primary duties related to supervisory and/or safety experience in a heavy industrial environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• The heavy industrial experience of the candidate is specifically in a steel manufacturing/fabrication environment
• The candidate has direct experience in working with a safety related regulatory agency (ex. OSHA or state equivalent)
• Familiarity with a recognized safety program (ex. OSHA Voluntary Protection Program or ISO 45001)
• Industrial Hygiene understanding and/or experience
• A degree in a related safety discipline or added direct experience equivalent
